PBMT - Day 135

It's a busy week this week and today we went for Adrian's 3rd TCM appointment in Central. Other than Aunt S who came by to say hello, we got a big surprise by seeing Adrian's best buddy from K8N at the clinic!!! We haven't seen each other for a few months and it's the first time we saw her outside of QM. Having mixed feelings seeing the two kids mingling with each other, playing and running in the corridor outside the clinic, who would have thought the two of them have already gone through so much in their lives. This is the first time in months where Adrian can play with someone his age and being social... this is the stimulation he needed most at his age. Adrian got prescribed 14 doses of TCM and as per the doctor, he's supposed to drink them continuously. Mama brought toothbrush this time so the doctor can see Adrian's tougue when she pretended to brush his teeth. The trick seemed to work well in this case!

hi jen and family
i wanted to give you a few tips the speech and ot gave for deqlan. for the speech - try and get in front of adrians face when talking to him so he can see what you saying - deqlan doesnt like learning through his ears, but his eyes - also simplify what you say - like dont say - look the red truck - say truck and point to what you saying. speak like adrian is a 'tourist' slowly and simple words. try and 'get in his way' when he wants something he has to look at you and tell you to move out the way. when he wants his juice for egsample ask him - what does adrian want - and he must try and tell you or point or indicate what he wants. try and spend as much time on the floor with him , playing in what he is interested in - dont try and show him what you want him to see, but get into what he is doing. hope this helps jen, it has seemed to help with deqlan - he is now giving us more eye contact and saying mama, baba, car and kitt ( for kitty! ) so we are getting there! if you read my blog it also tells about deqlan saying a friend yesterday and how badly he needs the interaction, but you have to be so careful and you worry if he will get sick etc, but i think as soon as they have friends they can play with it will definitely help them more! Have a great weekend, hugs to adrian, God Bless
