Adrian is starting to get the separation anxiety these days. Papa & Mama can't seem to leave his eye sight, else he'll scream & cry really hard... He used to be an independent baby before but soon after being in ICU where parents are not allowed to stay overnight, Adrian seemed to be afraid that we might leave him again. On the other hand, baby didn't sleep well these days and luckily he can still eat (thanks God!!)! Will be back to K8S tomorrow for check up and not sure if he'll need to be hospitalized or sent home. We'll see...

Does the hospital allow you to leave pictures with the baby? I once read about parents putting pictures of themselves along the baby's bumper pad, so that when the baby opens his eyes in the morning, he will think that mommy and daddy are there. You can have your pictures printed onto fabric (like a small cushion) and leave it with Adrian. I think a piece of your clothing will also give him some comfort too (because of the familiar scent). Though he may not be able to comprehend, but you can try telling him something like: "Adrian, please hold on to this for mommy, and I will come back in the morning to retrieve it when I see you." This should give him some assurance that you will always come back for him (you can never underestimate how smart kids are these days).

Hello -

You probably have no idea who we are. Mitchie shared Adrian's story with us, and we've been following your posts as much as possible. We just wanted you to know that you will all be in our thoughts and prayers during Adrian's road to recovery.

Sincerely,
Edith and Ken Yau

kaitlyn's mommy, thanks for sharing your ideas. I think Papa has spoiled him too much. Adrian likes to cling with daddy than myself because Papa likes to play with him so much. I tried giving him different toys or even magazine to distract him from us. We'll have to train him...
