PBMT - Day 288

No school again because of the Typhoon and Adrian got an extra day staying home for rest. Adrian refused to have carbs again these couple of days. Can't imagine he could be that unpredictable... he loved penne so much last week but he totally hated it this week. Will try something different tomorrow.

I remember as a kid, I would pay close attention to the TV for news of school cancellation during Typhoon season. Adrian may be too young to realize it now, but if he is a bit older, he would probably be eager to see the Typhoon #1 sign hoisted as well.

Kids get bored with things easily, especially when they're not feeling well. Perhaps the penne with olive oil and garlic is a bit too strong for him at the moment, since you said he had some mild fever. When Kate was sick, we don't give her the normal menu, we serve Chicken Noodle Soup instead. And I'm ashamed to say this, but we never make from scratch (she doesn't like mommy's chicken noodle soup, I guess not enough sodium), so we try to buy the healthier options out there. The current brand we use is Primo, and even so, you may have to try different variations until you find one that Adrian likes. (It comes in Rice and barley, Flat noodle, or Fusili.) If Adrian has not yet tried Fusili, I think he may like it too, because it looks like a screw.

Check out the pasta shapes available in your local supermarket and stock up on them. I recently bought Kate a pack of Winnie the Pooh Pasta, and she loves them so much that she finished her Mac n Cheese in record time.
